Azenta Announces the Acquisition of Ziath

Azenta Announces the Acquisition of Ziath

Azenta has businesses across North America, Europe, and Asia, with its headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts. Azenta, Inc. is a global leader in the development of life sciences services, enabling the speedier monetization of significant discoveries and treatments.

For the world’s top pharmaceutical, biotech, academic, and healthcare organizations, Azenta offers a full range of dependable cold-chain specimen monitoring systems and genomics solutions in fields like drug discovery, medical trials, and advanced mobile treatments.

Ziath is a well-known manufacturer of 2D barcode scanners for use in the life sciences. Ziath is headquartered in Cambridge, United Kingdom and primarily operates from there. This startup was established in 2005 and has created cutting-edge 2D barcode readers.

These are an essential part of the laboratory automation process that serves international customers in the biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, and scientific sectors. The innovative product pipeline and intellectual property of Ziath were important considerations in its acquisition choice.

Ziath will be run by CEO and co-founder Neil Benn as a unit of Azenta’s Consumables and Instruments business, which is part of the company’s Life Sciences Products division. The SVP and General Manager of Azentha’s Life Sciences Products division, Mitch Coyne, is optimistic about this arrangement.

Non-GAAP earnings for Azenta are anticipated to increase in FY 2023 and GAAP earnings in FY 2024 as a result of the deal. Ziath will improve its product offerings that cover the complete sample lifespan, from sample collection to registry, storage, and analysis. Azenta’s 2D barcoded sample containers work perfectly with and complement the Ziath 2D barcode scanning devices.
